His main interests in music vary from playing and performing acoustic jazz to composing all kinds of music with computers and electronic instruments. Laine's resent interest has been combining piano and vibraphone to electric music environment. In his music he likes to mix elements from jazz, classical music and electronic music. For him there's no ultimate music style above all others; you can make good or bad music in any music style. Nevertheless music must carry strong feeling and if you can make it with just few notes, that's the magic.

Laine's resent pop group has taken a fun challenge to play modern dance music live with minimal amount of players. We are just three guys - basically bass & vocals, keyboards, drums - playing resent hits of David Guetta, Rihanna or Daft Punk. Band is entitled "Maailman Pienin Bilebandi" (MPB) which is finnish and simply means The Worlds Smallest Party Band.
